So how about just a few pictures instead?

Settling In

Well things have been completely crazy for the past week as we have been trying to get moved. We are almost settled in at mom and dad's. A few more boxes to unpack and things to organize and we will be all set. But we have had lots of other things to keep us busy while trying to get moved too. Warning: lots of pictures to come! It's been a week since I've posted any!
We said "See ya later" to a lot of Stillwater friends (no reason for goodbye, we will be back soon). Rib Crib made this sign for Ryan and our sweet LifeGroup friends had a cookout for us. We were really humbled that people care that much about us, we felt so undeserving.
This is Hudson's LG friend, Ryan. She is so funny, mostly she just walks up and points at him.
Sunday was Mission Roundup at church so we wore our cowboy attire.
There was a portrait backdrop so we took the opportunity for lots of photos our cute cowboy :)
Look at those smiles!
There are better pictures on a friend's camera so I'll share those when I get them.
I think he looks like a doll in this picture.
After church on Sunday we went to meet Braylin. She is 9 weeks old and so long and skinny!
She slept through most of it, but finally woke up at the end and we got to see her eyes.
She is just pure sweetness!
Last night we walked to the high school to honor a fallen soldier from Owasso.
It was amazing to see all the people lining the streets to pay respect as his family was on their way to his memorial service. It really makes you feel proud to be from such a great communtiy that pays tribute to the men and women who give us our freedom. Owasso did a great job of honoring Andrew. Please remember the Looney family in prayer this week. Andrew was only 21 years old, he sacrificed a lot in his young life and we live free because of people like him.
Ryan started his new job somewhere in all this craziness, too. He seems to really like it and is mostly just getting adjusted to the schedule. I can't wait to go visit and see him at work, but since he works so late I'm not sure when that will happen. More on this topic to come, he crashed out this morning when he got home so I didn't get too much out of him about it; just that his first night went well. Tonight is night two, hoping that it goes well and that he is able to stay awake. I can't imagine working nights, it's definitely a big adjustment for all of us. But mostly we are just happy that he is happy and has a good job! I keep getting reminded of how good God is to give us this life and the freedoms we have. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

Weekend at Home

This weekend we went home for Father's Day and for a friend's wedding.
I chopped my hair pretty good right before the rehearsal dinner. It's just too hot for all the thickness and I was getting lazy about fixing it. This should be much easier to deal with and better for this hot summer!
Saturday morning I found these two in my bed watching cartoons!
We also tried out the pool. Hudson doesn't seem to have an opinion one way or another about it. He just hangs out and doesn't say or do much. I guess that's better than hating it.
Josh and Taylor's wedding was super cute and short! Thank goodness because it was definitely hot outside!
We had a great time catching up with friends at the wedding too!
We didn't get to spend much time with Ryan on Father's Day because he had to get back and do his last few shifts at Rib Crib. But we told him how much we appreciate him before he left! We really love him! He is such a good daddy!
We found this cool frog floaty and tried the pool again. Hudson just sat around and relaxed in it!
Isn't he just stylin' in his swim gear?!
We had a great weekend and got some work done too, so that we are ready to get our things set up at mom and dad's until we get the house sold!

Packing and a Play Date

Today some of my awesome friends came over to help me pack! A huge thank you for all of their love and support during this move! I will miss seeing them every school day!
We had a great time chatting, eating pizza, watching the boys play, and packing! I'm so thankful for their help! It would have taken me days to get that kitchen done without them!
'
These boys crack me up when they are together! They sat in their Bumbos ad Hudson chewed on Ayden's blanket and Ayden played with tape from a box and Hudson's toys!
They also played on the floor. Ayden was grabbing all of Hudson's toys (which is no big deal since the boy has enough to share), so apparently Hudson thought it was appropriate to grab Ayden's pillow.
And now my house is filled with these!
I can't wait to get them out of here and unpacked in a new place!
Please pray that we sell this house soon and that we find the perfect new house!

5 Months Old

Hudson you are five months old!
Boy how time flies when you are having fun!
Here is a snapshot of your life at 5 months.

You still only eat about 4oz at a time, sometimes 6oz. You eat every 2-3 hours.

You have started eating rice cereal and oatmeal and really like them both. You now eat one of them every night before bedtime. You mostly just want to play with the spoon, but you really seem to enjoy the eating part too. From the way you act with oatmeal I think you will be a big eater, but that doesn't surprise me because mommy and daddy love food too!

You are sleeping in your big boy crib in your own room now!
You are always in bed by 9:30, but sometimes it's as early at 8:30. You are sleeping mostly through the night only get up once for the most part. You aren't completely consistent yet and that's ok. Mom worries about you when you sleep 8 hours straight so it's kind of nice to see you in the middle of the night (once is good though).

You are wearing 3-6 month clothes, but have a few 0-3 things that still fit  (mostly pants, since you have short little legs and a tiny waist)!

You wear size 2 diapers.

You have lost most of your hair except for your little mullet in the back. But it's starting to come back in very slowly. Mommy sure does miss your thick dark brown hair!

You absolutely love bathtime and splashing in the water. You kick and kick and kick some more!

You love to play in your exersaucer. You have figured out how to make it sing to you and like to chew on the toys that you can get to your mouth.

You still do not like being on your tummy, but do like laying on your back to play.

You are working on rolling over, but don't like to go all the way on your belly so you end up hanging out on your side a lot.

You have figured out how to laugh!  You think it's hilarious when your feet touch your face and when you fly in the air. But if mommy starts laughing you usually laugh with her!

You are working on sitting up and do pretty good at it in your boppy. You love sitting up and standing. When you aren't sitting up you use your arms and try to push yourself up.

You smile ALL the time! That is what I love most about you right now. That smile is so contagious and you just flirt with everyone. You smile for mommy the most, but everyone else can normally get a smile out too. It's the sweetest thing I've ever seen. EVER.

You are the biggest joy to daddy and I! We are not one bit proud of you, YA RIGHT!
We love you to pieces and always will. We never knew a guy your size could be our biggest joy on this earth and that we could love you like we do!
And I had to share this picture because it's hilarious...checking out that moose!

Unexpected Change

GOOD NEWS....
Ryan accepted a job with a very good company! We are super excited and I'm so happy for him! The craziest part of it all is that we are moving!! This has all happened suddenly and wasn't really our plan (but God's plan is always so much better :)). So we are moving back "home." We are excited to live in the same city as our families and especially for Hudson to get to be around his grandparents and more of his aunts and uncles.  But there are definitely a lot of things about Stillwater we will miss too. It's been our home for a few years now and even though we knew we wouldn't live here forever we are sad to leave.
We don't really have much time as he starts in 9 days and Hudson and I want to be there with him. So we are in a packing frenzy trying to organize what goes to our temporary living situation (mom and dad's house) and what goes to storage until we have a new place. We are so thankful to have family to stay with while we are in transition from selling one house and finding another.
I'm currently looking for a job in the area and praying that God will show me where he wants to use me this school year. I'm excited about our future. God's got great things in store and His timing has been SO perfect. Thank you Lord for always providing our every need.

Getting Out of the House!

Ryan was gone a lot last week and H and I got really tired of being in the house! I have a new respect for single mothers. It's hard being home alone for several days by yourself. We had some visitors and that was nice, but it's defintely not the same without your spouse. I don't know how single parents do it all the time. It wore me out!
Ryan has also been really worried about his job situation so since he got home I've been trying to keep him distracted and busy. It hasn't really been working, but I was doing my best.  We originally planned to go to OKC because we don't go there often and we needed to run a few errands. But we woke up Monday morning hearing about how things were flooding there and many roads and highways were shut down. So that was a no go. Definitely praying for all those people who have lost cars, have damaged houses, etc.
So we went to Tulsa instead and Hudson got to play, hit the town, and see his grandparents! And we had a good day out!
Today has been the same story. So we went to Chick-Fil-A!
And this boy was supposed to be napping, but of course he wasn't (story of my life)!
We needed to stop at the bank, so we took in H-man's piggy bank too! Did you know that money is the most talked about subject in the bible? More than anything I want to teach this young boy how important it is to be a good steward of money. It's something that we are working so hard at being a good example of. (I don't know if that sentence is correct?!)
He was so curious about what was going on over that counter.
And the spoon saga continues...this boy loves his oatmeal and the spoons. Tonight he fought me for the spoon. He obviously won (but I gave up pretty easy)!
And Ryan has no more worries about a job, because this afternoon he accepted one! I'm proud of him, more info to come!

Love This Song!

We had a great day at church! It was exactly what I needed after the past fews days. Ryan has been gone alot and we've both gotten bad news this week. I needed to be there this morning, reminded about how much God loves me and how He has great plans in store for us. Even though this may be the end of a season in life, it's not the end of God's great plan. Praise him for that!
He can do immeasurably more than we can ask! Ephesians 3:20

This song is such a great reminder of how much he cares for us!
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh! how He loves us,
Oh! how He loves us,
Oh! how He loves.

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
And Heaven meets earth like an unforseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way...

iPhone Envy

Someone loves his momma's iPhone. Mostly for the fact that it is bright and colorful and another something to put in his mouth.
He tries to manipulate my hands when I have it to get it to his mouth.
But don't think for one minute that I actually let it get there. But he does get close!
Since he is so intrigued by it, I decided to use it to entice him to roll over. Is that terrible of me? Poor guy just won't let himself roll all the way over. He truely dislikes nothing more than being on his belly. So he gets to his side and decides he is going back the other way.
But with a little help from mommy we went all the way over and found the phone.
He wasn't happy about this for too long and tried to roll the other way which would have been off the couch. No worries. I'm supervising by sitting on the floor right below him.
He would much rather do this than roll! He loves standing (or squatting in this case).   Anyway, I found a cheap baby cell phone at Wal-Mart. Of course it's not as fun as his mom's! Sorry babe, but it's going to be QUITE A WHILE until you get your own.

On another note, I found my two boys asleep like this tonight!
Apparently this is what watching The Weather Channel does to them. It's a rough life as you can tell.
Ryan moved his arm and H quickly realized he was not happy with this set up! But I rescued the poor guy and he is now sleeping soundly in his crib! Now I'm off to bed before he's up again. We aren't having a consistent sleep pattern this week so I'm not sure what we will be up for tonight! Sweet Dreams!

Play Date and a Visit

Today has been a busy day for the little man. It started early this morning with a play date with his buddy Ayden while I taught summer school (pictures to come later) and ended with a visit from Papa, Mae Mae Uncle Jon and Aunt Ashton.  Luckily, he had a two and a half hour nap inbetween so he was well rested!
We ate at "The Bar" as dad calls it, also known as Louie's. It's delicious! Hudson is definitely interested in ordering his own plate! He loves watching people eat. It cracks me up how intently he stares at food. He is still loving his oatmeal and Papa and Mae Mae got to see him eating in action tonight!
Hopefully we get a good night of sleep. Last night didn't go so well. Thankfully tomorrow is Friday! We are ready for the weekend! Goodnight!

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Not too much to say tonight. Just a little about what Hudson's been up to. I think it's been a whole 5 days since I posted pictures of H-man and I am sure some of you are just about to die of impatience!
We are practicing sitting up these days. He loves sitting up. He has for a long time (you know the whole four months of his life). So we are practicing more and working on less support so he can be on his own soon!
He also love toys and anything he can put in his mouth! Including hands and cell phones!
Sometimes he ends up like this.
And wonders how he is ever going to make it back to those toys.
And of course drooling is always necessary too. And apparently the tongue in this case. It's a 24/7 job cleaning up all the drool! You wouldn't believe what a task it is!
We also love making a mess of oatmeal! I say we because I'm fully guilty of helping with the mess on his face! But why not let him be a messy eater now while he still can, right?!
And we have to have the ever so dramatic head fling when it's all gone. You would think it's the end of the world. Really what he wants is chew on the spoon. He could care less about oatmeal, it's spoons he really loves.
Silly boy! I just love him!

And have I told you lately that I am SO INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL because I have a wonderful sister who just loves that boy to pieces. It's nice to have another set of hands! She does too much for that boy, I feel like I'm hardly doing anything! He is so blessed to have Aunt Abby!
