Homecoming!

Our next Fall Break event was reliving lots of fun memories in Stillwater! It’s kind of our second home and where our first baby was born. We definitely cherish it!

DSC_1285

Homecoming is QUITE the event there and you don’t want to miss it! We headed to Walkaround to check out all of the house decs. This one (above & below) made up one of my favorites!

We walked around the newly remodeled Student Union and over to Theta pond!

Another fun house dec!

Last we headed to GIA for some Homecoming Hoops! We wanted to see Abby’s bestie playing ball! Hud loved all of the sorority cheers and was trying to do their motions the whole time. Then he headed down with daddy to meet the band! He had a blast!

{And there you have it! The short & sweet version of homecoming!}

Pumpkin Patch

Fall Break has come and in a few short hours will be gone ;( but we had a blast! We planned several fun things to do with Hud because it is our last real time together before Hayden comes!

DSC_1128

On our first day we headed out to Livesay Orchards for some pumpkin fun! This is where we take our Kinder friends each fall and I just love it! This truck was the first thing Hudson ran to when we arrived.

DSC_1132

Mommy and daddy even took a turn!

DSC_1138DSC_1142

After we checked in (Thank you Groupon for the great deal!) we headed to Pumpkin Playland. Hud shucked corn and went pumpkin bowling.

DSC_1149

Not a bad throw for a two year old ;)

DSC_1156

Hud and daddy milked the cow,

DSC_1164DSC_1168

measured their height and we all went through the hay maze.

DSC_1175

They also dug in the dirt,

DSC_1185

did the pumpkin ring toss,

DSC_1190

and the bean bag throw.

DSC_1197

We ate a typical fall lunch there of BBQ sandwiches, frito chili pie, and Hud chose popcorn!

DSC_1204 copy

Hud could hardly eat because he was so worried about the hay ride! He couldn’t wait! I’m pretty sure he talked the whole ride! He was so excited!

DSC_1214 copyDSC_1250

We rode out to the pumpkin vines where we could pick our own pumpkins! Hud immediately started rolling the pumpkins and checking them out as soon as he got off.

DSC_1239 copyDSC_1240 copy

I got him to take a break for a few pictures!

DSC_1254DSC_1256 copy

After turning down dozens of pumpkins he finally found one he wanted! He was holding on to that things for dear life!

DSC_1262DSC_1268

We took the hay ride back to the market to weigh our pumpkins and pick out some more goodies. (excuse our very squinty eyes!)

DSC_1278DSC_1282

Hud rode the wagon around while we shopped for some other items like some, pumpkin butter, pie pumpkins and other gourds. Hud had a blast and now we have some lovely decorations to make our house feel a little more like fall!

36 Weeks

Wow! What a busy week! I’m so late posting for bumpdates!

DSC_1794

How Far Along: 36 Weeks

Size of baby: the weight of a crenshaw melon

Weight Gain/Loss: +27lbs

Maternity Clothes: Ugh, everything seems too short to fit over the bump and it’s making it hard to get dressed in the mornings!

Gender: It’s a Boy! {Hayden Greer} We confirmed that on Friday at our ultrasound. The doctor’s exact words were “It’s definitely a boy” as soon as she turned on the screen. You are apparently proud, Hayden!

Movement: Yes, it’s hilarious to watch my belly and the random body parts you can see (or at least guess) pushing out! He puts on quite a show! He especially loves moving in the shower and when I lay down in bed each night.

Sleep: We have our good days and bad days. I’m finding it more difficult to get comfortable ;(

What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach and shirts that fit!

Cravings: Water!

Symptoms: big belly, a several Braxton Hicks

Best Moment this week: Our ultrasound! Friday we went to the doctor for our weekly check up. The doctor wanted to see if we had started making progress towards labor. Hayden was so high up she decided to do an ultrasound to see what he was up to. Turns out that he is in the right position he’s just sitting really high. My fluid levels are good and he’s got a good heart beat. He’s just going to be stubborn like his brother and make me evict him ;) We got to see his cute little face and his man parts! Now if he will just hurry up (in about 2 1/2-3 weeks) and decide to make his own appearance!

Cousins

My cousin Cavin recently returned from serving overseas in the Marines. His parents threw a little party to celebrate his homecoming so we made the trip to Missouri to visit family and celebrate too!

DSC_1043

Hudson was so excited to go see his cousin Bray, Cavin’s son. What Hudson didn’t know is that Bray loves trains as much as he does. Last year when we saw them Hud wasn’t into trains yet and he can’t remember that long ago either.

DSC_1046

I wouldn’t say Bray was exactly excited about sharing his trains, but Hud wouldn’t be either. Hud, however, was excited that Bray has so many trains to play with.

DSC_1053

We celebrated with a cookout and lots of dessert!

DSC_1054

Call Me Cupcake (aka mom) made these cute cookies!

DSC_1068

(more train talk)

DSC_1079

And the boys played and played as much as they could until they were ready to crash!

DSC_1086

And until they couldn’t eat any more sweets!

DSC_1090

So they hugged and said goodbye so nicely!

DSC_1093DSC_1094

We made one last stop at Andy’s before we headed home and then Hud was zonked before we could get out of town.

He had a blast seeing his cousin Bray and now we talk about him a LOT! He talks about how he is “so nice” and how they played trains (I think he has train envy) and where Bray is and how his house is far away.

Day Out with Thomas

This summer I was searching for fun things to do with Hudson. I was particularly looking for train ideas because the boy is in love obsessed. So I found out about “A Day Out with Thomas” through my searching, unfortunately it was until this month. Thankfully Hud didn’t know anything about it, I just had to keep quiet about it until now ;)

DSC_0857DSC_0859

We talked about going to see Thomas, but he had no idea what that really meant. I love the excitement on his face as he sees the real Thomas we were walking up to!

DSC_0871

He was in train heaven. There were trains EVERYWHERE!

DSC_0874DSC_0876

They even had a huge Thomas store set up to trap moms and dads into spending more money than they could ever imagine for toy trains. Thankfully we settled on a much smaller Gordon train that he is perfectly happy with!

DSC_0879DSC_0883

After our shopping trip we hit the creation station where they had train tables, legos, coloring pages and more that were all Thomas themed! The boy went from table to table faster than I could watch checking out all of the toys. Seriously train heaven!

DSC_0904

We were lucky to have our timing just right to get in line for Thomas pictures without much wait!

DSC_0905DSC_0910

We got our tickets out and headed to the train ride! Hud was really distracted by excited about his new Gordon he was having a hard time even thinking about the fact that we were going on a real train ride. It was as important as the toy at the moment.

DSC_0912

DSC_0923

I was the mean mama who didn’t let him open that new toy until our whole day with Thomas was over. He held onto it so tight because he just couldn’t wait!

DSC_0927DSC_0928

Clapping for Thomas because he brought us all the way back to the station! Thanks Thomas!

DSC_0931

He received a cute little certificate that says he is a Jr. Engineer.

DSC_0951DSC_0959

And to end our day we got to see Sir Topham Hatt. I love how he’s just watching and checking him out!

DSC_0965

Bye Bye Thomas and trains and Sir Topham Hatt!

DSC_0935

And I’m so glad my sister came along to help chase this guy around! After our day with Thomas we ate Qdoba for lunch and went shopping at the best store in OKC for some accessories for Hayden’s room (pics to come later) and I let Hud open his Gordon toy! We also go to visit Abby’s school and classroom (according to Huds) aka her townhouse.

And when we got home my wonderful husband had potato soup and a fire ready. It was a great Saturday!
