I'll Cry If I Want To

You would cry too if it happened to you...
Poor baby has had a rough day with trying to pull up, banging his head, and busting his lip. But tomorrow is a new day and I'm praying it's a little easier on him.

Go Storm!

This weekend Hudson got to attend his first Crimson Storm Volleyball game!
Mae Mae got him this cute little outfit to wear so he could cheer on his Aunt Abby!
We went by ourselves so I was a little nervous about how the 2 hour trip would go, but it worked out perfectly! He slept the whole way there and he got tired just when we were about to leave and slept the whole way back!
We kind of surprised Aunt Abby and I think we did a good job! He was so good and watched all that was going on. He sat in the stadium seats, drank a bottle, played with the coach's son, and ate puffs. He wasn't too sure about the buzzer noise though. He played on the gym floor after the game and I'm pretty sure he thought he was big stuff.
We also got to visit Ashton & Meghan. Unfortunately that didn't go so well, because it was nap time and he showed them his grumpy side (maybe next time you all will get to play).
But we had a really good day and got to spend some good time with Aunt Abby! It was a quick trip there and back, but it was well worth it :) We love you Abby!

Birthdays

We've spend the last two evenings celebrating Hatch birthdays!
First we celebrated Sarah's 14th birthday at Logan's last night!
We love Sarah and she is the sweetest cousin to Hudson. They have a great time together!
Tonight we went to Hammet House to celebrate my MIL's birthday and it was delicious! I didn't get any pictures though. They have some of the biggest pies I've ever seen, but we were too stuffed from dinner to have any. But it all worked out because we got home and found out that Orange Leaf was opening tonight and they had free ice cream!
Doesn't he look so grown up sitting at the table with a plate?
We've had a great time celebrating birthdays and are thankful for both of these ladies.
Happy Birthday Sarah and Richie!

8 Months

You are 8 months old, baby boy!
I can't believe how much you've grown!
Here is your life this last month:
You weighed 18lbs 2oz last week when we took you to the doctor, so I think it's safe to say that you still weigh pretty close to that.
I'm guessing you are approximately 26-27 inches long.

You are still a good eater! You eat 6oz bottles 5 or 6 times a day and you eat baby food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner too. You really like anything we give you except peas! You still just don't enjoy them at all. You also love mashed potatoes, crackers, and pickles.

I don't know where to even begin with your crazy sleep habits. You were starting to get better about sleeping then you got sick, but I think we are getting better again. What I do know is that you are getting better at naps and that makes me so happy! You are taking at least one long nap almost everyday (except when mommy keeps you out all day and messes up your schedule).

You've had an ear infection this month, but we got it at the beginning and are so glad we took you to the doctor when we did. Other than that you are a healthy baby boy!

You are really inbetween clothes sizes and it's driving your mom crazy to find something that fits you everyday! You are starting to outgrow your 3-6 month clothes, but are still a bit small for the 6-12 months. Mostly you are just to short for a bigger size!
You are still in a size 3 diaper.

Your hair is still growing a lot and today you had your second haircut! You really aren't good with haircuts because it means you have to sit still. Your hair is light brown and thick!

You have six teeth! Four on top and two on bottom! They are starting to show more each day and you want to chew everything!

You have learned how to give "sugars" which means you open your mouth real wide and lean in and get a kiss. It's so sweet!

You are so close to crawling! You go backwards and that frustrates you so much! You are starting to move one leg forward, but aren't sure what to do next and after several attempts at not getting anywhere you give up. You will get it down soon though.

You love to stand up and jump! You tried a jumper for the first time this week and absolutely loved it! You still really like to kick and stomp your feet too. You are just moving nonstop!

You still adore your Marley dog and want to pull at her and pet her and get her kisses. She tolerates you so well and I'm thankful for that. The two of you provide entertainment to each other and us everyday!
We love your precious personality. You are a ham and smile for everyone that talks to you! We like that you are social and are so easy going. You are just so happy!
We love love love you! Thank you for being your little sweet self. You are a reminder to us everyday of all the blessings God has given us. We adore you Hudson William!

What Is Hudson Up To?

I know that all of my faithful blog followers (all three of you) are just dying to know what H man is up to these days.  I'll try to do better this week. Last week was out of control busy and blogging just didn't fit in. So here is a quick update:
We are still cheering on our Cowboys!
We are working on finding the perfect "big boy" carseat. And this might be the one. Gone are the days of the overly heavy infant carrier. It was great for this momma's muscles (hard c sound to say muskles like my Kindergarten littles do), but H is ready to be sitting up and watching as the world goes by.
We also had a little battle with sickness last week, but we caught the beginning stages and are definitely better. We are back to our normal "Ham it up Hudson" self and his mom is happy he is better (and the rest of us are too).

I'm joining a new bible study group tomorrow and was reading up for it when I came to these verses:
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3
I can't wait to see what God has in store for me through Wednesday nights. I'm already challenged and motivated.

Crunching Leaves

Yesterday we were headed to a cookout and I thought Hudson looked so cute in this clearance outfit that I wanted to take a few pictures outside.
But he found the leaves so instead of smiles we have his thoughtful, observant face.
But they still turned out cute.
And I'm glad he had a good time playing in the grass.
I'm sure we will do this much more when he gets older.
And I loved hearing him crunch those leaves. It was a good reminder that fall is coming, my favorite season! The decorations, warm clothes, colorful leaves, football games, the pumpkin patch with Kindergarten, Carmel Apple Spice from Starbucks, all of it. I can't wait! Happy almost Fall!

Are You Ready For Some Football?

Football season is in full swing and Hudson got to attend his first game Friday night. We went to the Rams game and had a great time!
The weather was perfect for a football game too! So I'm glad we got to go before the weather gets cold.
I was curious to see how he would react to the noise and all the people, etc. but he was so good and just hung out. He got to meet Ryan's favorite band director and she just commented on how good he was. It makes me happy to have people say good things about him so I don't feel like I'm the only one who thinks he's perfect ha :). I'm kidding. Kind of. But really, Hudson got to meet her and Ryan was excited to show him off.
Of course Saturday we waited all day for the Cowboys to kick off their season and they are off to a great start! Ryan was really bummed that he wasn't at the opening game for the first time in 5 years, but we will get to take Hudson soon.
Instead we watched from the couch and enjoyed staying in and we will make our trip for a bigger game later in the season! Hopefully your favorite football team is off to a good start! We are excited to see what the Cowboys will pull out this year with a new quarterback! GO POKES!

Chicken in a Can

Frankly, I was pretty grossed out by the thought of giving my son chicken that has been pureed and put in a glass jar (not a can, but it sounded better for the title).
Hudson was obviously super thrilled by it, as you can tell by the look on his face. But we have tried it four nights in a row now and I think he has warmed up to it a little more each day. Thankfully he will pretty much eat anything. I pray this continues and he isn't a picky eater.
I apologize for the food all over him, but it's normal. He will hardly sit still long enough to get the food in his mouth so it just ends up all over him. Hence why he eats naked.  But the real reason I had to show you this picture is because you can see his top chompers. All four of them. Yes, four. Please ignore the food in his mouth....
