Technology

I learned something new today! I can blog from my phone! Isn't technology fun? So in honor of my new discovery here are some of my favorite iPhone photos they are not the best quality since taken with my phone, but great to use when your camera isn't close!

This is when we were still in the hospital and it was very early in the morning!

I think this is the "I'm not to sure about this" face.

Nothing is better than going to Owasso and cuddling with Aunt Abby!
Hope you've had a good day! We visited Hudson's daycare today and it made me just a bit emotional :( I'm just not ready to let go yet, but I'm a working woman and it's my calling to teach. Anyway, more to come on this subject later. We are going to get ready for American Idol night! Can't wait to see who makes the top 12!

Monday Monday

Just in case you need a good laugh to get your Monday off to a good start...
This is what you get for taking naked pictures of a 5 day old baby!
But it was well worth it since Margo got some great shots of our newborn boy. It's all about sacrifice right?!
Happy Monday!

One Month Old

Hudson, you turned one month old yesterday!
Here is a bit about what you are doing these days:
Sleeping: We are starting to see you sleeping in 4 hour time blocks although they aren't consistent yet. And last night you slept for 5 straight hours! You still love to sleep in your boppy and do not like to be flat on your back. You really prefer your side the most.

Eating: You eat every 2 hours! You have tried formula over the past month although you don't prefer it. But in the case we were out and you needed to eat, you dealt with it. Mommy and daddy don't love having to use it, but we will if we really have/need to.

You are now wearing size 1 diapers; you just started this week.

You are starting to coo and smile and it melts mommy's heat when you do. Those smiles and sweet sounds can make anyone's day brighter!

This month has been filled with many firsts (obviously) and we wouldn't trade what we have done over the past month for anything. We never knew how much you would change our lives and how much of a blessing you would be. You bring smiles to so many faces. We wouldn't trade you for anything in the world and we couldn't have been blessed with a more perfect baby. We love you!

Bathtime and Visitors

This week has been off to a great start! Monday mom came for her regular weekly visit and we had a few other visitors!
Camryn is the daughter of my sweet teacher friend Sarah. She was my neighboring teacher last year and helped me through so much! I'm so thankful for her friendship and so happy that she and the girls got to come meet Hudson!
Ryan had a good time keeping the girls entertained! And it looks like Marley wants in on the fun too!
Yesterday was Hudson's first time in his whale tub. Finally his belly button decided it was ready last week and we are now free for regular baths. Thank goodness for no more sponge baths, he really hated those! You can tell by this face though that he isn't quite sure what we are up to this time. He didn't cry like he did with a sponge bath, he spent most of the time looking around trying to figure it all out. Hopefully his whale tub will make bathtime more fun!

Valentine's Day

Well Hudson had his first Valentine's day and I just don't think he knows how much he is loved. We had a great day even though we didn't do anything fancy. We enjoyed a great service at church, which H slept through again and then a lunch with my two Valentine's dates! We ended the day with a Valentine's party at the best friend's house complete with tortilla soup, chocolate pie, and the premiere of Amazing Race!
A huge thank you to everyone who sent Hudson cards for the special day. He really loved them as you can tell in this picture. He is one loved little guy this day and every other day too! By the way, isn't he so handsome in his homemade tie shirt?!

P.S. Grandma and Grandpa L,
Hudson says thank you for the special gift inside his card. His daddy said he could buy a lot of pacifiers with that, but instead we put it in his piggy bank!  It reminds me of when Great Grandma used to send $10 and make me take by brother and sisters to get Andy's ice cream! Lucky for Hudson, he doesn't have to share! Love you guys!

Overnight Trip

Thursday we took Hudson for his first overnight trip! Ryan had class in Tulsa and didn't have to work Friday so we thought it would be nice to stay the night and not have to drive home late. Hudson slept great away from home and even got a little snuggle time in Grandma's bed!
Friday we had a fun day! We visited mom at the donut shop and she got to show him off to her customers, we had lunch with my mom and Ryan's mom and Jessica and Sarah and then before we headed out of town we stopped by dad's work! Ryan worked their one summer so all the guys know him and were excited to see him and Hudson! Dad liked showing him off too I think!
We then headed to Pawnee to celebrate Valentine's Day with my littles. This is the outfit we had picked out for the special occasion, but of course it didn't even make it past 11am. Good thing we packed our plan B and C outfits because we ended up needing both of those too!
We had a great time seeing the kids and teachers and my sweet students made me this bulletin board!
Anyway, we are so thankful for a good baby who does well when we travel! We are off to get ready to watch the big Bedlam rivalry today! We will be wearing our orange! GO POKES!

Cuddle Buddies

Aren't they sweet?!
It's been a cuddly day here! Mr. H thinks that he needs to be held ALL the time right now. I love to hold him and cuddle with him, but it makes it extremely hard to get anything done! Oh well right?! I should enjoy it while I can! So we have spent most of our day in our pj's cuddled up under blankets. We were going to run some errands today and go to LifeGroup and see our friends, but it is just too cold to get out! I don't think it's even gotten over 30 degrees today! Brrr! So there is potato soup on the stove and we are going to stay snuggled up and watch American Idol. It's just one of those days where there is no need to do anything else!

Tulsa Thursday and a Fun Weekend

Last semester, Ryan had a class in Tulsa on Tuesdays. This semester he has one on Thursdays so Hudson and I decided to take the big trip with him this past week. Here is a little bit about our day:
First we stopped in Pawnee to see my students perform their program, "Three Nanny Goats Gruff." It was great and my class did a great job at the bumblebees!
Afterwards my students got to meet Hudson! They were so excited we were there and really loved his dinosaur shirt! They thought it was cool since they have been learning about dinosaurs! I have missed their sweets hugs and loved hearing them say "Mrs. Hatch we misseded you!" They are so sweet!
Of course he couldn't take his first trip to Owasso without wearing this shirt....

He also got to visit with his buddy Julian and eat at my favorite place in Owasso!
And meet his cousin Sarah!
It was a long but fun day so Friday we spent most of the day catching up on our rest and just relaxing.
Saturday Uncle Jon and Aunt Ashton came to visit! We had a lazy day watching basketball and just hanging out.
Sunday we took Hudson to church for the first time! He slept through the whole service in his carseat.
Ryan was worried about the loud music, but it never bothered him! He could hear it part of the time I was pregnant so I think he was used to it!
We took him to LifeKids to meet Lindsey and she gave him this sweet gift! He was too out to know it, but he will appreciate it later when he gets to wear it. Thank you Lindsey!
Ryan's parents came for a visit and he got to meet his cousin Valerie!
This fun weekend pretty much wore us out! We spent most of Monday being lazy at the house and recovering from all the fun!

3 Weeks

Hudson, you are a big 3 weeks old today!
So here is what you have been up to the past week:
Eating: This hasn't changed much. You eat pretty close to every 2-3 hours and at night you are getting closer to eating every 4!
Sleep: You are usually ready for bed by 10, but it varies when you wake up for the first time. You are sleeping closer to 4 hours at night without eating and mom loves that! You are awake a lot more during the day and aren't taking a long morning nap like you used to. You are taking a good afternoon nap though. You have also been trying very hard to fight sleep over the past week and are trying to keep those bright eyes open, but mommy and daddy usually win!
Events: Over the past week you have done a lot! Met mommy's kindergarten class and the teachers, taken your first big car ride to Owasso, met your cousins Sarah and Valerie and your Aunt Jessica and Uncle Ken. You have also learned what it is like to live with dogs (they still aren't too sure about you and are still a little jealous), watched your first Super Bowl, and you made your first trip to church! Your Uncle Jon, Aunt Ashton and Grandparents have all come to visit over the past week too!

I can't believe that next week we will celebrate your 1 month birthday! It makes mommy a little sad to see you growing up so fast already!

Check Up and Signing

Yesterday we took Hudson for his two week check-up.
He weighs at healthy 8lbs 10oz and is 21 inches long!
Over the past week he has gained a pound and a half and grown half an inch in length! He is just a growing baby boy! He is perfect in every other way and our pediatrician is just great with him, we are so thankful for her!
His tummy is finally better and he is sleeping more! So we are taking advantage of that today and having a lazy morning!

In other news....
My little sister signed for Southern Nazarene University on Monday!
She will be rocking the volleyball court in OKC and we can't wait to take Hudson to see his Aunt Abby play! We are so proud of her!

2 Weeks Old and January is Over

Can you believe January is over? It's a little surreal since it's the month we have been looking forward to since May. It has been the most memorable month in our lives, being blessed with our baby boy and I just can't believe it is now gone!
Anyway, here is our growing boy!

Hudson, you are 2 weeks old today!
I can't believe it's been 14 days since you came into our lives! It has been a great two weeks and we love you more than ever, but you are making your mom a little sad seeing you grow so fast already! I can't believe how much older you look!

Here is what you have been up to lately:
Sleeping:We have figured out that you really just don't like sleeping flat on your back and you sleep much better at night now that we know that. But you are still waking up a lot at night to eat. We love to watch you sleep because you smile a lot and make other funny facial expresions. You are so cute when you wake up because it takes you a while to decide whether or not you want to open your eyes and you do lots of stretching.
Like this! Check out that arm stretch!

Eating:You usually eat every 2-3 hours but sometimes during the day you go a little longer wihout eating. At night you usually eat about midnight, 3:30 and 6, but sleep well inbetween feedings.
You have also had your first tummy ache which is making me sad.

Events: Over the past week you have made your first trip to Aunt Stacia's (on your 1 week birthday), made your first trip to Wal-Mart (it was so crazy there and this is a milestone considering how much your dad loves going there), met some of our Lifegroup friends, and experienced your first snow. We haven't been out of the house in 5 days because of this crazy weather; mom doesn't want to take you out in the cold or drive with you on any ice!

We are so excited to see what Week 3 will bring you!
